What do the great artists of the Renaissance, women homesteaders of the Western frontier, and Pixar studios 3-D engineers have in common? They all used geometry to make their masterpieces. We are excited to offer our Geometry Art Camp dedicated to bringing out the artist in your child, through geometry! During the artistic process, they discover mathematical principles.

There is something uncomfortable and personal that every adolescent experiences, and it's not what you're thinking. It's how they're thinking. Sometime between middle and high-school, teachers begin expecting students not only to memorize facts but also to think analytically about them. Think Camp gives students the opportunity to make that cognitive switch by exploring a topic of their own choosing!
Students create and carry out an age-appropriate line of inquiry as a team: developing a research question, finding answers, and presenting their analysis. The entire process relies on student initiative, creativity and perseverance. When they realize they can learn independently, they will learn independently.
Sample Schedule
Day 1 - A Good Question
Day 2 - Reliable Sources
Day 3 - An Insightful Thesis
Day 4 - A Clear Exposition
Day 5 - Some Better Questions
Back-to-School Crash Courses
Golden Gate Tutors remind students of last year's material that may have gotten a bit rusty over the summer and paint a big picture for the coming year so students can start the semester with confidence! Parents attend all workshops free.

"In Geometry Art Camp this summer I learned how to find the area of a triangle and about angle degrees in math. I liked the multiplication tests. It was fun to go into the park with the class. I loved the water balloon fight. I loved it being a small camp; I got more attention and help. Celeste was good at explaining things and she helped me a lot."
